Drop Your Drawers for Charity drive this month!
A clean pair of underwear is one of life’s most basic needs, but one that many people take for granted. At St. Vincent de Paul’s Resource Center more than 2,000 pairs of underwear are distributed each month. That’s more than 28,000 per year!
Unlike other clothing donations, underwear must be new. And when donations don’t meet demand, SVdP must purchase the shortage.
With this in mind, SVdP launched its Drop Your Drawers for Charity underwear drive in 2018 and are bringing it back again as a simple way for community supporters to provide new packs of underwear for those who need them most.
This year, we are proud to have the direct support of the Better Business Bureau serving the Pacific Southwest and BBB4Good, along with Arizona Financial Credit Union who is hosting drives at branches across the Valley.
Individuals, businesses, churches, community groups and retail stores are encouraged to participate by hosting a Drop Your Drawers drive, purchasing new underwear through the drive’s Amazon Wish List or donating financially online at stvincentdepaul.net/DYD.
Underwear for adult men and women of all sizes is needed. There is a current a high need for men’s underwear in particular. Socks are also welcome. Donations will be collected through October 31 with a goal of collecting 20,000+ pairs of underwear this year!
